ouch. I got kicked and shattered my femur. hurt like hell

Ok guys you can walk behind horses! I have walked behind mine my entire life and have never been kicked. Ya horses are dangerous. ya i have fallen off. ya i have gotten stepped on and broken my foot. but honestly if you are smart enough to let the horse know that your going there before you're there chances are they wont kick you. 95% of the time they would kick because they didnt know tou were there. Ya the 0ther 5 of maybe 10% could be unsafe untrained horses. but honestly think before you comment

Whoever says there's no reason to be directly behind a horse has never had to walk down a relatively narrow barn aisle with three large horses on cross-ties, large horses being moved into their stalls, people walking around with tack and grooming kits, and other people being called out to help mentally disabled kids ride ponies no bigger than a Great Dane and horses much bigger than any cow. So long as the horse knows you're there and you're practically up the horse's butt, it's relatively unlikely you're going to get hurt, because you're on top of the horse's legs. There is still a possibility, but it's small. But, yeah, there is a reason to be directly behind a horse. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. Also, to be fair, a friend of mine who is a horse person (as am I) was standing NEXT TO HER HORSE when he spooked and kicked, and his knee hit hers and aggravated her tendonitis to the point that she had to go to the hospital. Even standing next to a horse can be dangerous if the animal spooks. I've been standing next to a horse - a pony, really - and been bitten. The pony just turned and bit me on the back of my arm while I was just standing there, making sure no one needed any help. Never say never.

Let this be a lesson: God is waiting oh-so patiently for any of the seven billion people on Earth to say shit like that, and then, when they do, BOOM. Irony will kick them in their ass...or, in your case, the leg. FYL.

I still love horses(: I was kicked in the face when I was 10 and half of my skin was hanging off.I had 2 surgeries 150 stitches 50 sugar screws and was in the hospital for a week.It was nice though because I got 2 months off from school.Anyways,my life still revolves around horses.Don't give up(:

THAT is why u ALWAYS pay attentio. When you are around horses and NEVER stand directly behind them if ur not paying attention. I hope ur leg feels better and that you can show your parents not to be afraid of horses
