I'm fairly certain that it's illegal to open another person's mail. Information privacy or something like that.

Illegal or not, if people actually sue their parents for opening their mail, it's a little overboard. Sure, it's an invasion of privacy when parents open their kids' mail, but that's not even what OP was writing an FML about, lol

I think it is, although I'm not sure. If it is, I have every right to get my dad done because he opens ALL of my mail.
