Today, my friends decided to grab my phone and lock themselves in my room. They come back out an hour later. And my phone was factory reset. Turns out if you enter the wrong password 10 times it resets the phone. Everything was gone, including my resume I was editing on my phone. FML

There is a setting that you can turn on where after 10 attempts it resets your device.

Erm no it doesn't. Entering the pin wrong 10 times it locks until you connect it to iTunes. Your friends just reset it. I'd be having words with them!

I agree this sucks but you also kind of deserve for having it set to delete everything after 10 attempts

You also deserve it for not having it backed up to iCloud.

That can't happen in an hour because the intervals between the few last password entries are an hour each so it would take more than an hour to factory reset it like that
