If he does not make you feel beautiful he shouldn't be your boyfriend. Unless he was actually trying to offer some kind of constructive criticism and meant that the way you apply it is not working. Either way, offering constructive criticism to a girl regarding her looks should be approached with great caution, sensitivity, diplomacy and also wearing crotch protection if at all possible.
