MAYBE: He mistook your eye color. Do you have glasses? Because sometimes glasses make people mistake eye colors. My friends thought I had green/purple/pure black, which is impossible, eyes, when my eyes are just very dark brown. And as for the earrings, most girls do have their ears pierced. Is your hair very long? He might not have known.
