That's still cute.
At least he doesn't eat them. My dog has a weird dads inaction with hunting frogs and trying to eat them, even though she knows they taste awful. She'll stare at them and drool like crazy (which, she NEVER drools otherwise) before chasing them. And every she catches one, she spits it out and spends the next few minutes trying to get the taste out of her mouth. Unless by "make friends" you meant "make lunch," in which case, welcome to the club.
At least your not sleeping with the fishes.
