Today, I received 46 emails from co-workers who were using reply-all to tell everyone else not to use reply-all. FML

Been there - people at my work tend to send group emails, often Union related, to hundreds if not thousands of contacts - like the entire staff of every prison and court location - and among the meaningless Reply All drivel like 'here here' there are always at least a dozen who reply to all to say, take me off this group email and stop hitting Reply All. Fortunately our work emails use Outlook and I just create a rule to send all future emails with that subject line into the junk folder. We get enough irrelevant rubbish to read each day without this.

to;dr: "This has happened to me before, but I've set my settings to automatically send these types of messages to the junk folder."

And the office redundancy continues...

This sounds like something my coworkers would do on purpose to annoy people.

Bingo. It's to annoy the one person who replied to all to criticize the first person, who more than likely hit reply to all by accident out if habbit, Or everyone is trying to be funny to lighten up the day. Either way I just roll with it. It usually happens once for every new hire.

A similar thing happened where I work OP. One person accidentally sent a group message to every member of office staff in the company, we came into work to about 2000 emails from people clicking 'reply all'!

At least the reply all wasn't evil this time like usual...

Welcome to corporate email. We get one of those about ever 6 months.
