Well why don't you just come out about your feelings.
Because some straight people are so uncomfortable with the idea that someone has a gay crush on them that they would shut down the friendship altogether. It happens all the time.
at the end of it all. you're an amazing friend. You made sure the person you fell for was happy before your happiness. I hope it works out for you in the end.
