Content almost refused by staff

Today, I got an invitation to a baby shower for my super hormonal friend. The date she picked also falls on the same day of another friends wedding. I have already paid for a hotel and flight. Time to break the news that I can't attend the baby shower. FML

Shouldn't be a big deal. Just tell her you already had other plans

A wedding trumps a baby shower. Especially when your plans were already made. It's not like you're going to meet the baby on he day. Send a gift for the shower, go to the christening.

Hormones, Mother Nature's second biggest way of saying "**** you." Bring a gift when you tell her, and arrange for a second to be delivered the day of the shower, and arrange to meet the baby as soon as possible afterwards- though I would tell her you want to wait two weeks in case you bring home an illness, to avoid passing it on to the little one.
