Today, I was picking up my 10 year-old step-son from the airport. He began screaming and crying saying that I wasn't his father. I ended up sitting in a holding room because the security guards thought I was kidnapping him. My wife thought it was hilarious. FML

Today, after reading a sign at the airport, my 6-year-old son thought it would be funny to yell, "Daddy's got a bomb!" Airport security then tackled me to the ground. Oh, and I missed my flight and my mother's birthday. FML

Today, I was at the airport when I saw a woman drop her bags and run to her husband. Thinking that someone might steal them, I picked up her bags and brought them over to her. She thanked me by slapping me, calling me a bitch and calling security. FML

Today, my 6-year-old son was so angry at me for not buying him overpriced candy at the airport that he told a security guard I had a machine gun in my suitcase. The interrogation was not pleasant. FML

Today, I hugged a man I thought was my dad at the airport. It wasn't my dad. The man’s actual family stood nearby, watching me cling to their father for a solid 5 seconds. FML

Today, I went to pick up my niece from daycare. As I walked past the gates, a little kid yelled, “Daddy’s here!” and ran to hug me. His actual dad was right behind me, clearly very confused, while the daycare workers glared at me like they were about to call the cops on me. FML

Today, I was picking up my nephew from school. I waved when I saw him coming, shouted, “Hey dude!” The kid stared at me, confused. That’s when I realized it wasn’t my nephew, just a child who looked vaguely similar but who was now terrified. His actual mom gave me a look like she was deciding whether to call security. FML

Today, I smacked my kid on top of the head for spinning the display rack while I was looking at greeting cards. It wasn't until he dramatically screamed and dropped to the floor wailing that I realized he wasn't my daughter. FML

Today, I was supposed to catch a 4:40 flight to New York. My 5 year-old son handed me my carry on bag as I left the house. Turns out he had put his older brother's BB gun into my bag to "keep me safe." I missed my flight after I was detained and strip-searched. FML

this is why kids need to have their asses beat. It works people, wether you like it or not. thats what my parents did and trust me, i wasnt doin that same shit the next day. you ever wonder why kids these days are more spoiled, out of control, and misbehaved than ever. Im not a tightass or a strict dude. in fact im the opposite. but kids need to learn. at 10 he shouldnt be throwin fits and actin like that. you oughta beat that little ******* arse

That is the best comment I've seen in forever! People these days are too up with "grounding" and "punishments". Taking away a cell phone is not a punishment. Taking away 1 hour of computer time is also not a punishment. Kids these days are screwing up because they don't get their asses smacked when they need it. They swear, fight, and act the fool all over the place and if you hit them they're calling the police and child services. People have lost their backbones and kids are running wild. And I'll say it. It's because Gen X'ers are now having kids and saying that they turned out so badly because their parents hit them, and that's why they need depression medicine and stuff to make them able to "go on with life". *laughs* Beat that kids ass and also tell your wife that you aren't going to pick up that kid anymore. I also agree with the other posters. If the kid asks for anything tell him to go ask his mom because you aren't his real dad.

I would be laughing my ass off at my own situation if I were you. The drive home would be a riot, I would be laughing my head off at how messed up the situation became. Your wife sounds cool. Although, I would still reprimand that kid, because that kid needs to learn respect. Damn. Hiding or stern talking to for sure :P
