Tell her to go look up "Jenny Reads 50 Shades of Gray" by author Jenny Trout. The author takes apart all three books chapter by chapter (saves you the horror of reading them in the process) and includes legit references to abuse, how absolutely unrealistically stupid the book is and a myriad of other things. Your (ex)-girlfriend will not think of that series the same way again if she goes through that blog. I don't know how any woman can find that to be an example of a relationship they want. Christian Grey is an emotionally, mentally, and physically abusive arsehole that should be locked up in a ward and any guy who mimics him should not be allowed around women.

Good riddance. Christian Grey is an abusive character and a real-life relationship with a man like him would be atrocious. I've read 50 Shades of Grey and was incredibly appalled by how badly the BDSM culture was displayed, by how dull and passive the main character is and how creepy and unsettling the "hunk" is.
