I agree with ur bf
he's right - as far as his job, everyone has to make a living. valentine's day is for clueless consumer drones.
My fiance and I don't really celebrate Valentine's Day. We agreed to it. But that doesn't mean everybody else should do the same thing. **** all of you for trying to push your opinions on other people. Where in the OP did she mention that she was demanding a diamond necklace? Celebrating Valentine's Day could consist of a romantic letter and a homecooked candlelit dinner. How in the hell is that consumeristic?! If you believe that V-Day is just for the capitalist sheep, then fine, don't celebrate it then! But don't attack the OP just because she might want to do something special on that day that may or may not even consist of buying anything. OP, FYL. Your bf sounds like an egotistical ass.
hmmm.... British people, who don't like capitalism??? damn. that's a first. your boyfriend can have his socialism/communism.... I'll keep my money, my guns, and my freedoms. - love America
"Keep you doped with religion, sex and TV, And you think you're so clever and classless and free. But you're still ******* peasants as far as I can see" You have no idea how moronic Americans like you look to the rest of the world. Good job, you have fallen for exactly what society has preened you to believe, you gullible idiot.
dump the moron
LOL. This thread is fun! I don't trust anyone with fake blonde hair. We should throw you out into this Pittsburgh winter storm, fake barbie. Enjoy fake California. I've been with a nice Pittsburgh man for almost a year now. And we are proudly against Valentine's Day. Now, I'm not going to say that NOBODY can celebrate Valentine's Day. That's fine. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But, if anyone, annyyyoneee, ever thought my boyfriend was a bad person for not celebrating it.. let's not even go there. That is my 2 cents. Carry on and have a nice life.
Is this one for me? Im listed as California because I was born and raised in San Diego. My hair has been blonde my whole life, although I do add some highlites to it now. I don't know how fake someone who doesn't wear makeup or fancy clothes can be. I guess my sunglasses in the photo are fake. Im dating a nice Minneapolis man who, Im sure, has seen far worse than your storm. Also, I live in a teeny tiny town in the mountains of Arizona, now. I've had snow, too. In fact, I was scraping ice off my windshield this morning. It's not my fault you chose to live in Pittsburgh. I wouldn't. I prefer the milder climate of San Diego. It's gorgeous and laid back and why the hell would I want to live somewhere with crazy storms like that when I can just drive to the snow when I feel like it? I enjoyed living where everyone else goes to vacation. I plan on moving back as soon as my contract here is up. I never said your bf was a bad person. I said the reason the OP's bf gave was pretty lame, as EVERY holiday is full of consumerism/commercialism.
If it's not for me, whoops! :D
There are much more important causes out there than battling a holiday for him, and hopefully OP realizes that there are much better ways of determining the true feelings of a significant other than whether or not he buys gifts when society demands it. Maybe OP should give her boyfriend a handmade gift and see how he responds.
LMAO. First of all, it's his JOB. It's called people need to make a living.. just because he works in a bank doesn't mean he agrees with the fat cats who are ruining the world. FYI valentine's day comes from a man going to all lengths to have his woman... buying you chicks chocolate, flowers and jewelry has nothing to do with it.
Oh no valentines isn't being celebrated... What does it celebrate anyways? It was started by corporate America to make money. That's true. But even if you did celebrate it why not remember THE SAINT VALENTINES DAY MASSACRE?

364? Which one day gets left out? Also, I'm pretty sure banks are closed a lot more than 1 day a year.
And? Am I the only one who thinks it's disgusting that apparently you can't love someone without being expected to buy them $20 roses and whatnot. Gifts should be just what their name implies- something you get for free because someone else cares about you. Not something you whine about until you get because an arbitrary holiday says you deserve them. Seriously, has it ever occurred to you that if you have to whine at someone to get you a gift, or act romantic, or whatever, then they're probably just doing it to stop you bitching at them, and it's really not worth that much at all?
