I don't know..... I'm kind of thinking both ways on this. I understand how you feel in trying to save money. I have friends going to college soon and they're wondering how they're going to get by even before the year started for them. I do sorta feel like YDI though. My parents don't let me to work at all (even if I wanted to...). This means that they expect me to focus on schoolwork and get into a pretty "good college" no matter how costly it is. I have a feeling that your mom would've been happy with that as well. As others have mentioned, financial aid and scholarships probably would've been available.
i feel so bad for you, but then again you should have told her.. maybe you could have gotten a scholarship or w/e.. your fault but sorry.. that sucks
Cornell puts a very reasonable maximum on your loans and gives you the rest in grants. Whoops.
*I* am really smart...
I'm pretty sure you can write to the schools and ask for another copy of the materials.
Schilorships, my dear. Student loans, too. Making it no to big name schools like that mean you have a good chance for qualifying for some schilorships. There are ways around the money problem. If anyone else who reads this gets accepted but is unsure of finances, see a financial counselor, which most colleges have. They can help you figure out how to pay for it and you can worry about paying fir it all later. But it might take twenty years.
Another point I forgot to mention: you should have at least TOLD your mom that you made it in!!! Just because you're accepted doesn't mean that you have to attend it! That way, she could have at least known what you're capablen of and not be ashamed in you. I'm really sorry, but YDI.
It's called a loan asshole. You take them out and pay them back.
It's called double posting asshole. It's what you don't do when you comment.

YDI for throwing them away
YDI for not talking to your mom and throwing them away. If you can't afford it, there's always financial aid...
