Today, after having my car back for a few months after a $2,000 repair, I got in, only for it to not start. Don't worry. It's not the battery. It's the engine, which was fine yesterday. FML

You might want to take it in and make sure it's not your alternator or the starter. Generally, engines won't just stop as long as you have oil in it, but take it back to your mechanic to have it checked. Ask if there is any type of warranty on the parts he used or the work he did. If you feel like you're getting screwed, get a second opinion and see if the diagnostics match up. If anything, order an OBD2 reader and use it to tell you what the problem is.

"The Engine" is kinda vague. Like, what's wrong with it? There's a lot of really simple things that can cause a vehicle to not start, that are pretty easy to fix. Honestly, I think it would be a good idea for you to learn a bit more about how cars work, it's extremely useful for anyone to know at least basic things about their vehicles.

Am I the only one that's a little paranoid and thinks that whenever people fix your car, they do something to it so you'd have to come back to fix it again? Idk. Guess it's just me

I feel the same way... Instead of taking it to them & spending the $ I usually buy the parts & tools to fix myself & watch YouTube videos of I don’t know how or need to learn how to fix a specific thing... For the labor I get the tools & knowledge... The tools come in handy next time for something else... Except things that I can’t figure out even with a odb scanner like right now... Taking my car to the shop to see wtf is wrong with it...
