Lost cause

Today, I went to my parents' house after escaping my abusive relationship. My mom scoffed and said, “This is what happens when you move out, barely graduated high school, with a bum.” When I told her I was 3 months pregnant, she said, “And a child out of wedlock? You’re a lost case!” and slammed the door in my face. FML

You’ve made mistakes but NO ONE deserves to be abused. There are programs and agencies that help women in your situation. Go to the police, a hospital, a church, a library or community advocacy to find out where they are and how they can help you protect yourself and your child.

Wow, it must be nice to live a perfect, mistake-proof existance where nothing bad ever happens to you. Like OP, I barely passed high school and was in an abusive relationship. From the outside it looked like I was making poor choices, but on the inside I was severely depressed, suffering from ptsd from CSA and years of abuse at home. I left home for my own safety only to end up in a worse situation. Nearly 20 years later, I am thriving, my mental health is in check, I am set to graduate college with a 3.9, and I have a great partner of over 10 years. Don't judge a book by its cover. OP, hang in there, life gets better.

She’s not wrong?? Grow up!! I can’t believe anyone over the age of 16 could make this many poor choices. Looks like you’re stuck now, congrats.
