When they said you can drop your weights down anytime, they didn't really mean at ANY time.
I HATE to say it but...No pain. No gain? Seriously though. Don't let this stop you from bettering yourself. Use the 5 pound dumbell next time. Good luck OP.

A rule as a beginner is to start out slow. You need to use 2 - 5 lb weights before you move to 10lb weights.
