Curtain call

Today, I was part of a community theater play as a prop helper. I was supposed to slide a fake letter under a door, but I got overenthusiastic and kicked it into the audience. The actor improvised, but the crowd laughed harder at my blunder than the actual play. FML

If memory serves me right, and they are buying the script rather than writing it themselves improvisation in the middle of that might actually void the contract for licensing of that particular play. I understand the anxiety can make you forget or sometimes have moments where you kind of freeze or react a different way but I just wanted to let you know that many plays that are written have a policy of strict adherement to what the play is written for. I’ve even seen Catholic schools that licensed certain ones when they buy the play, have a full on freak out when a kid decides to improvise and change either what they said or what they do. Recently while recording one of these for the parents, I found out about this at the dress rehearsal
