Today, my boss accused me of eyeing for a promotion when I suggested a solution to save our team time by staying on a 2-hour schedule in the mornings. He told me we average 3 hours for our production, but his goal for this area is 90 minutes. FML

Today, my boss told me that my attitude to work is awesome and that he'd follow my example of coming in half-an-hour early every day from now on. I relish those 30 minutes as the only time I can get work done without him constantly interrupting me. So much for that. FML

Today, I accidentally stumbled on a method of getting my job done in about a third of the time, so my boss made it mandatory for all employees. Unfortunately, my coworkers now can't slack off pretending jobs take 2-3 hours, and their constant petty revenge bullying is driving me mad. FML

Today, my boss scolded me for being too friendly to our customers and told me to back off and let them do their thing. Less than an hour after doing as he said, he scolded me again, this time for slacking off and not asking them if they needed help finding stuff. There goes my bonus. FML

Today, my boss yelled at me because every time he does his checklist walk-through of the warehouse I’m always sat on my ass in the break room, either watching television or fast asleep. Yeah, he does his walk-through every day between 12:30 and 12:45, right in the middle of my lunch break. Idiot. FML

they do a task in 3 hours. boss has a goal for 1.5 hours. OP had an idea that might bring it to 2 hours. boss got upset OP might take their job due to finding a possibly fast solution to the task.

It cannot be a good thing to have to work for a boss so insecure that if someone offered a suggestion to improve work efficiency that boss fears they will be replaced. You have a couple of options: (1) Say less and listen more and hope that when boss fails he doesn’t bring you down with him. (2) Keep working but look for another job. The one thing that rarely works well is go go around your boss and talk to upper management or the owner. The problem is they hired your idiot boss and they won’t admit they made a mistake. Plus your boss deals with his boss frequently and your boss’s boss is more likely to believe some lie your boss tells in retaliation.
