Today, while working at Walmart, I was walking the sales floor and passed the end of an aisle. I saw a customer coming at me from the corner of my eye, so I jumped backwards. I hit a display case, and watched it topple over before turning to apologize to the customer. It was a ladder. FML

Imagining the looks you got, and how you tried to play it off.

aw it's ok I've done the something before

You should have apologized to it anyway. Make the catastrophe worth it.

Blame it all on the ladder and it's uncanny abillity to randomly change into customers at will.

You could have shortened this by saying "today, while working at Walmart".

You're either a great employee or just really bored if you felt the need to jump at the opportunity to help

Someone's a little jumpy! Can't say jumping backwards would be my first reflex upon seeing someone coming my way unless they were very large and or running.

Wow. I didn't think there was anyone more jumpy than myself! Did you have to pay for what you broke, or did they let you off the hook?

I would jump too if a ladder came at me.

Been there, done that. In my case, a dinosaur balloon came at me.
