Today, I broke up with my boyfriend. I decided that I was going to give his ticket to my prom (that I paid for) to someone else that I wanted to go with. It just occurred to me that my ex still thinks we're going together. FML

Inform him, even if you have to go a bit out of your way to- and be a decent person about it, don't do it over text. Yes, he'll probably figure it out, but it will be more polite to inform him bluntly and politely. Now, if you broke up because he's abusive in some way... feel free not to say anything, especially to him in person.

Today, I spent 3 hours looking at a YouTube video on how to do Rubik’s cube. Even after being told how to do it, I couldn't finish it. I scrolled down the comments and read, "Awesome! I'm 10 and can do it in 3 minutes now!" I'm 28 and still can't do it, even with a tutorial. FML

Today, I had a meeting with a place that does Terramation (turns you into compost) to plan for my Mom who has stage 4 lung cancer. It feels surreal to have a professional conversation about plans and finances for when my Mom meets her end. I'm glad she knows what she wants, and it isn't a last minute deal, but dang… FML

Today, I went to test start my generator because there is a big wind storm coming in (a bomb cyclone according to the news). As I was pull-starting the generator, the rope broke. OK. Went to Home Depot to get a new rope and installed it. I broke the spring assembly installing the rope. FML
