I think this is a thing with drama teachers, they all think their plays are ~SO IMPORTANT.~ They're school productions, who's really going to care one way or another?! Not as if money is being lost either way. Anyway, your teacher sucks. : ( Mine was like that too. Complain to the administration!

Ugh. Drama teachers. Bitches. My high school drama teacher was big with the favoritism. She basically let her favs pick whatever roles they wanted and then dished out the rest. Maybe that's what happened here and her favs got the cushy job of understudies which they knew they could just blow off (hence them not being there) and not get in trouble. Agree with 101. High school productions are nothing. Hell, the plays in my school were a separate process from the classes so they didn't affect one another. I took drama to get over my fear of public speaking and to gain more confidence. Instead I got a teacher that shot me down no matter how hard I tried and behaved immaturely most of the time. That teacher doubled as a film lit instuctor and she burst out laughing during a serious presenation I was giving in that class. Again I say ugh.

I gotta call bullshit. I can't imagine ANY teacher being so whacked out of her gourd that she would fail you when you were obviously telling the truth about being sick. Unless she thinks you did it on purpose just to spite her?

Wow, that sucks! She should've failed your understudies, who EXIST FOR A REASON known as replacing you when you're in no state to go onstage!

You should really see if a school counselor or another teacher can help you file a complaint, because that's completely out of line. If all else fails, next time, direct the spray toward her.
