Today, my girlfriend missed our date, so I angrily texted her, telling her if she can't make our dates then we should break up, and generally telling her off. Five minutes later I get a picture of her sleeping in a hospital bed from her mother, saying, "Shut the fuck up, she had appendicitis." FML

Today, our dog became ill. My mom wasted no time attending her every needs and became very distressed. When I had appendicitis a few months ago, my mom told me to “sleep it off” and a friend had to take me to the hospital. She only called once to bitch at me for “doing this on purpose to make her feel bad.” FML

You guys don't know their history. OP said "dates" plural, so I'm going to assume she missed more than just this one date. What if it's been a recent habit and it just so happens that this time, she happens to have a legitimate excuse? Without more information, it's hard to say whether he deserves it or not.
