Today, I told my mom about the rough time I'm having over my recent break-up, and how I can't help thinking about my ex every single day. Her attempt to console me involved saying, "Pft. I bet he doesn't think about you every day" and walking away. Thanks. FML

that happened to me too...but as it turns out he did leave me for someone else...and now they are getting married after 4 months....life does go on and you will feel better :)

Your mother meant that maybe it's not you, his eyes just aren't open enough to see that you're the best choice and was cheating on you; in which case it's good he's gone. Don't take anything the wrong way - there's ALWAYS good in a situation, no matter what :)
