Today, I walked past my fly strip while a fly who had been caught, but hadn't yet died, was on it. While I was there, I could hear his frantic buzzing and see his little arms flailing like mad as he tried in vain to escape. Great. Now I feel like shit for putting these things up. What kind of a monster am I? FML

I’ve heard that cutting the top off a coke bottle, putting it upside-down back in the rest of the bottle, and putting some vinegar in it will attract flies but then they can’t get back out because they can’t fly or walk out of the coke bottle top. If you use some duct tape as a hinge you could wait a bit for the flies to get caught and let them go outside?
