I think OP meant that they had sex in the past, then their parents met. They didn't say anything upon the realization because, really, where at the dinner table do you squeeze in "haha, you think that's bad? He and I had sex before!"? But the wording does make it sound like OP slept with the almost-step-brother. Either could be true.
