I called her mother, who is 69 years young and will outlive us all, and it came up that her brother's BFF, who my fiancé has been crushing on since she was a tween, just got divorced and moved back to Texas. I later found out that “mom” was code word for his other girlfriend, who he’s been seeing for a year. FML

Won't it be good for your fiancée's mother's mental health if her daughter is nearby and boning her brother's BFF? It's not always about you! By the way, a fiancé is a man and a fiancée is a woman.
