Today, I found out that my ex has a “new” girlfriend. I’ve been romantically involved with the ex off and on since our breakup 2 years ago, which just so happens to be how long they’ve apparently been dating. FML

While I respect the fact that a breakup or divorce is painful, do not expect an ex to stay in your life. It’s reasonable to expect an ex to continue to take care of his son, but not to stay in your life. Obviously ex has moved on, it’s time OP moves on too.
