Today, I got a call from the lawyer of my recently deceased neighbor, whom I once cared for. He apparently left me and his second daughter, whom he knows I had a huge crush on when we were kids, a vast amount, but we will only get it after we get married. He had severe dementia, and she's already been married for 15 years. FML

Because he wasn’t of sound mind, that will is pretty much void. I wouldn’t count on anything because his daughter can have that thrown out.

If it's *enough* money then she gets divorced, you get married on paper, you both cash out, get divorced/annulled and she remarries her husband again. It's a lot of faff but if the will stands then as long as her husband is completely on board and the money is worth jumping through the hoops for... 🤷
