Today, I was working at a restaurant. This guy comes up to the counter and asks if he could have some toothpicks. I told him they were right in front of him. He said, "Sorry, I'm blind." Thinking it was a joke, I laughed until he said, "No, seriously." FML

Today, at work, I put on a smile and went to take an elderly gentleman's order. He looked at me, asked if I'd stick a finger in his sweet tea to make it sweeter, then complained that it was a shame I wasn't "on the menu". FML

Today, at my job serving, I went to clear the plates when a guy said, "Hold on a second." Thinking he wasn't quite finished, I went to put the plate back. He then reached into his mouth, pulled out a dark brown object and threw it on the plate. It was a rotten tooth. I almost puked. FML

Today, while at work, a guy complained about me "touching his fries." At first I thought it was a joke, because he kept smiling, even after I offered him new ones. I realized it wasn't a joke when he threw the fries on the counter. FML

Today, I was in the cafeteria when I noticed a new worker cleaning a table. As I passed her, she looked up and smiled at me. Thinking she was pulling a funny face, I jokingly crossed my eyes and smiled back. She looked hurt and continued working. Later, she served me my lunch. She was actually cross-eyed. FML

Today, at work, I’ll admit that I wasn’t in a good mood. I work in fast food, and I went to hand this guy his food without looking and he didn’t grab it. I got frustrated so I FINALLY looked. With an equally as upset look, I noticed the guy didn’t have arms, so I’d just been shoving food in his face. FML

Goodness people! I have seen something similar to this happen before...the blind man was laughing his ass off later, but the point is no one could tell he was blind because he had shades on (along w/the 52 seeing* jackasses wearing shades in the darkly lit restaurant) & he also had no trouble navigating his way around w/out any type of assistance. Also, his eyes, like many people who are blind, were not "damaged," which means he probably wasn't born blind. I was the only one that noticed he was blind before that, & only b/c of his very subtle hand movements.

Thank you!!! I'm going blind, but manage on my own pretty well. I use my hands and feet to feel as I go. I also wear big shades.

sry but people use stupid expressions all the time how is op suppose to know he's blind? I've been online playing a video game and people say I just got raped....see another stupid expression when they could just say I lost...

Yes, it is something a lot of people say, but FHL for saying it to someone who was actually blind. I'm sure OP didn't mean anything offensive by it. It's things like that, that people need to watch. You should always be careful with what you say to another person.

27, people shouldn't be joking around that subject in the first place. Just because many people use it doesn't justify it. How is saying 'are you blind?' funny? I don't see it. Being blind isn't funny.
