I am so sick of these "I hit my head, wah wah" FMLs....they aren't real FML's...everyone hits their heads, we all think it sucks at the time! It would be a real FML if you hit your head and and could no longer walk as a result, or something along those lines!

You're the one who kicked the ball. It was self-defense. The ball was simply responding to the vicious attack. So really, it's your fault. The ball doesn't hate you, he didn't want to attack you, he was just sitting on the ground minding his own business.
