Today, my mother-in-law called me every 2 hours, starting at 8pm and stopping at 10am the following morning. She says that since my wife and I are expecting our first child, I should "get used to waking up at all hours." She calls my work phone, which I'm not allowed to switch off. FML

Hey, OP here. I would have mentioned in the FML that my work phone is one of those "dumb phones" and does not have any option to block numbers. After she did that for two nights in a row, I wound up setting one of the fax machine at my office to auto-dial her mobile and house phones every 15 minutes. Now, the only thing that wakes me up is the occasional user who forgot their login info, and my wife's odd food cravings.

She should be letting you enjoy your rest while you can instead..

My wife and I took turns getting up. You get woke up, but you get back to sleep faster when you don't have to get up. Promise you won't be like your wife's father and make her get up every time. If she doesn't smarten up, get a new phone from work, and don't tell her the number.

That only works if the mom isn't nursing or wants to pump every day. Doesn't make sense for my husband to get up most times because there is nothing he can do anyway.

Why does your mother-in-law have your work number? How does your company feel about employees using work phones for personal calls?

Sorry but your mother in law is a bitch. when we had our child, he didn't ever wake up. We had to wake him up every 2 hours to feed. and once he was 2 weeks old we didn't have to anymore. and we could just let him sleep. so not ALL babies wake up all night long. hope you get lucky op.

Leave an ad for free sex services on Craigslist, with a photo of some sexy young woman, and post her phone number. That should put a stop to it.

Block her number or set it to a silent ringtone.

Talk to your boss about how this woman is disrupting your work and get a new work number.

He can't put the phone on silent at least? Other than that, block dat bitch.

Wow most of the 'solutions' on here sound like elementary school kid ideas. Just be straight with her. You don't have to put her # on craigslist and you don't have to block her either.
