Today, my girlfriend of eight years explained to me that the Egyptian pyramids were built by aliens from Mars. I have a B.S. in Biology and an M.S. in Anthropology, and I'm working on my Ph.D. She thinks I'm an irrational idiot for telling her she's wrong. FML

He's just pointing out that he has a passion for anthropology, and that his girlfriend is insulting his passion. In addition, he's showing that if anyone would know about the origin of the pyramids, it would be he (him?).

Guys , no aliens built the pyramids , it was all built by humans , am Egyptian & am into Egyptology science all we can say now that it was built by ancient Egyptians but how? , it remains a mystery that will be known in the next few years

Many publications and shows have promoted the idea that no one knows how the pyramids were built, and that they could not be built today even with modern technology. So, yes, you are an idiot, because supposedly being so smart and educated you should know better not to be condescending and instead let her express herself, ask her why she thinks that's a valid explanation, then offer your point of view. You'll get much further in life, in influencing and teaching others, by listening to them and then showing them different points of view, than by making them feel stupid. What good is it to accumulate all that knowledge when you can't relate to other humans and pass on, in an intelligent manner, what you know.

I agree! How could we puny humans, with our lowly thumbs and think-boxes, possibly have built such magnificent shapes as triangles and squares! It is impossible that a race of beings so primitive as we are today would be remotely capable of stacking stones on top of eachother in a roughly geometric pattern! I mean, geez, we invented, uh...the internet, we sent men to the moon, and, uh, made weapons capable of destroying our planet a hundred times over...but those ain't no pyramids! Th3y sh4rp3n st00f! Hey, OPT911, you're an idiot. According to your logic, the opinion of a dentist and the opinion of a bloke who removes his teeth with string and a door, both concerning dentistry, are equally valid. Opinions that are well-demonstrably lower in quality and education should NOT be given equal weighting as one with an educational basis.
