Content almost refused by staff

Today, I was patiently sitting in the turning lane to turn left. That was until I was hit head on by a guy going over the speed limit because he was late for work and tried skipping traffic. According to the cop its "legal". He got away with it. I'm left with a ticket and 3000 bucks of damage. FML

I did he still got away with it, it was ruled our fault

You should still report the accident to your insurance company. Even without being ticketed, the guy who hit you was at fault. There should be a police report available in a few days with the other driver's information. Let your insurance company do the rest. Good luck to you!
