Today, I was given the best news of my life. I am cancer free and am not, at the ripe age of 23 going to bite the dust. My husband left his journal on the nightstand in our bedroom. He wrote, "I feel like a bad person, but if she dies, I don't have to get divorced." FML

Today, I found out that I have at least stage 3 cancer. I went on my insurance's website to get information for the doctors. I also saw "Other people who have been on your plan." My ex-wife was listed, with a new last name. She got remarried. I'm just going to let the cancer take me at this point. FML

Today, my wife filed for divorce. Last month, she was diagnosed with stage 4, terminal, inoperable cancer. We got a second (confirmed) opinion. She has maybe six months left. She told me she doesn't want to spend her last remaining days on this earth with me. Our 33rd anniversary was in May. FML

Today, I found out that the giant tumour on my leg isn’t cancerous or dangerous. My mom cried, and I was super relieved. Later on, I heard her on the phone in tears because now she won’t be able to get a free vacation or home renovations from the Make A Wish foundation. FML

Today, I found out my husband has been flirting with and dating behind my back the nurse who treats my cancer. He admitted that he needs someone healthy and not someone who’s “gonna be sick all the time.” He also attempted to justify it by saying, “You’re gonna die anyway and then what am I gonna do?” FML

Today, after being diagnosed with breast cancer, enduring months of tortuous chemo, having painful radiation treatments and having had my tubes tied, I realized I’ve become the butt of an incredibly cruel cosmic joke. I got pregnant from the one-night stand I had to celebrate beating cancer. FML

Today, my fiance's divorce was finalized and we went out to dinner to celebrate. I stepped away to use the bathroom, then came back to a note on the table saying, "I'm going to enjoy single life, thanks!" He left me with the bill. FML

Today, I got some news from two colleagues, one of whom just got married for the first time, and the other whose long-time wife was recently diagnosed with an advanced form of cancer. I wrote each of them a heartfelt note, which would've been thoughtful if I hadn't mixed up the recipients. FML

Today, my boyfriend broke up with me, saying he had to move away to be with his dad, who's just been diagnosed with cancer. After talking to his sister, I discovered that not only is his dad healthy, he's not moving away either; he's just gotten back with his ex. FML

# 54.... wow. her husband wishes she would DIE OF CANCER and you think she should PLEAD to him to work it out? I think she should make a copy of the entry and give it to someone just in case she dies and they suspect foul play. Also she could use it to sue for divorce. Marriage is a commitment and that means something to be worked on rather than just ditched but one still has to protect oneself. Also I believe that women are a certain percent more likely to be killed by someone they know... like a resentful crazy-selfish husband who seems to feel that divorce would put a mark on his appearances too much. I bet a dead wife would get him sympathy though. *sigh*

That's a horrible thing to have seen. It sucks that he wants a divorce. I'm sure he doesn't really want you to die, it was clearly just a spur of the moment thought that at least he wouldn't have to go through the divorce.

That is a horrible thing to have read :( Congratulations about being cancer free! It sucks that your husband wants a divorce. I'm sure your husband doesn't want you to die or anything like that though. He was probably just momentarrily thinking that he wouldn't have to go through the divorce if you did, not that he would prefer that or anything. Everyone has horribly insensitive thoughts that they don't mean, in private, sometimes. Thinking something or writing it in a journal is completly different from saying it or meaning it. He would probably be shocked if he read it back.

well, you did read his journal so your obviously a bitch, and then you went and posted something from his journal in a public forum, which makes you even more of a bitch, so cancer or not I think he has pretty good reason to leave you.
