Today, I was fired for "blatant, inexcusable racism". My boss had asked me which website background I preferred for our company, and I said that white backgrounds are usually best. He thinks that I believe in white supremacy, and that's bad for the company's image. FML

Does your boss think "a stab in the dark" is insulting gay people as well?

Some people just try to find any excuse to shout racism, even when it's totally ridiculous. Sorry that you had to associate with one of them OP

Your better off without someone that stupid

He was probably just trying to find a reason to fire you

A little off topic but you guys realize a black background wallpaper is actually greener as it saves up energy from the display right?

and you realize they were talking about a website right?

But a white background looks cleaner and professional.

You must not eat white meat in front of him because you know you'll be a racist if you pick it over dark meat.

Unless OP was standing in his/her white robe and had the initials KKK on it that boss was being a complete dick

Well bright colors bring attention to the webpage, and white is more professional than neon green or pink..

OP was right, black backgrounds usually signify something mysterious going on. Like HackForums.net or evilzone.org or something. White is mainly more positive, which is why most companies use it.

Right? White backgrounds like clean and professional, a darker background on a website is more personal or not really professional (personal opinion).

What are the chances that your boss simply don't like you for whatever reason?

Sounds like a great law suit easily decided in your favour. :)
