Today, I was closing the deal on this beautiful $200k ranch in the country. The buyer soon pulls up and we get to discussing the contract terms, soon the buyer asks the seller," Wow why is this house going so cheap?" The seller replies, "Do you believe in ghosts?" There goes my $8,000 commission. FML

Wow. That is totally screwed up. I hope the seller was saying that as a joke, if the seller wasn't then they are a total idiot.

You got the wrong buyers. If I had the money, I would've bought the house BECAUSE of the ghosts. Unless they were vengeful spirits. I'm sorry though, that really sucks. Especially in this global economy XP.

#51, haha. Well, maybe there's a small chance the buyers won't mind. A lot of people are into ghost stories & supposed haunted places. How else do you explain all that tourism to haunted homes/hotels & etc.?

Dont sweat it if its going for cheap than you should find a buyer soon I mean there has to be someone who isnt ******* nuts and has some common sense about these things who would want the land you could probably jack up the price quite a bit actually and than maybe "bring it down" so it makes them feel like they got a good deal say 300k and when they say but its haunted oh in that case 250k

If you can prove it's haunted... I'll buy it this weekend!

The seller is a moron. What the hell, it's like he's selling it but doesn't want it to be sold.

There's a ghost of a little girl in my parent's house who died in a fire in 1977. The house was refurbished, but every once in a while we see a small child trying to open the back door, which is set crooked and even my dad has issues with. Ghosts are freaking real.

I totally agree with you!!!! my house was built in 1935 and there are the ghosts of two children and their mother there. scared the crap out of me the first time I saw them.

I wish I could visit a haunted house! I've always wanted to know if there truly are ghosts........ lol. Even would buy it, who cares if it's haunted- if it's cheap.

YDI...you should know if the properties you're selling are haunted.

Well, I mean, the buyer has a right to know if they're going to be moving into a house with any sort of spirit activity in it. If it was bad enough to cause the seller to get out for a fraction of the actual price, then I'd say the buyer needed to be made aware of it now rather than later.

Wow, that's retarded. **** both the buyer's and seller's lives for being superstitious idiots. And #34, I think the key word in that is "material". There is no such thing as ghosts, there they aren't "material".

#60 FTW. The seller is a dumbass if he's selling a house so cheap because of "ghosts." The only "ghosts" are probably his vivid imagination, which is going to end up getting him ripped off. Secondly, the buyer is a dumbass, because there are no such things as ghosts and he was lucky as shit to have a superstitious whackjob selling him a property so cheap over something so stupid. FYL.
