Today, at my graduation for my high school GED, my parents said they were getting all my family and my girlfriend together. So we all went out to a steakhouse down the road, everyone ordered steaks. Turns out the 'surprise' was me paying. I only got 50$ grad money, and the bill was 159.98. FML

1) THAT FLIPPING SUCKS. wtf yo. 2) just for the record, getting a GED doesn't mean you've dropped out of school. don't act like you know what you're talking about when you don't because then you look like a ******* moron to those who do know about what you're talking about.

maybe your parents were preparing you for the real world..Once your out of college, your on your own..and your gonna get alot of that

to the guy above me: im assuming you bail out of the window a lot (which is what this guys should have done)

I would have totally walked right out of there.

Wow, what a bunch of crap. Who does that? I am sorry. Come to Colorado and I will take you out for a nice steak dinner and I will pay for it.

For all the GED haters... To make sure it's equivalent, they give it to a representative sample of graduating seniors on a regular basis. About a third fail it, the same percentage who fail out of the people taking it for real. Those high school students still get to graduate, by the way. When I took the GED, there was a woman there who was taking it for the third time because she'd failed it twice before. So don't judge someone for getting fed up with all the bullshit in high school and deciding to get on with their life. I have a GED, and I just finished my Junior year in college as a pre-med honors student with a 4.0 GPA. Most other college students I've met didn't even master basic grammar (like capitalizing the word "I") in high school.

What a cheap family. I'd try to be wealthy and do the same thing to them! Birthdays, Anniversaries, hah!
