Today, I proposed to my girlfriend. She said yes, and I excitedly called my mother to tell her about our engagement. She half-heartedly said, "Aww, that's nice", before changing the topic to what she'd found in her turd earlier. FML

Hey - OPs WIFE here :D we've been very happily married for two and a half years now. His mother genuinely talked about what was in her turd which wasn't anything that exciting, just some blood (sorry to burst the bubble - btw it was nothing sinister). We've never really seen eye to eye his mother and me but mostly because she is her little boy and I was taking him away from her. But we have lived happily ever after :)
