Today, my girlfriend accused me of cheating because I've been buying generic groceries instead of name brand to save money. Apparently, I must be using the extra money on another woman. FML

OP here! No, we talked about it before this, so she knew why. I'm not sure why she thinks this.

Methinks your girlfriend doth protest too much... Tell her to go and buy the groceries. I suspect she is cheating, or thinking of it.

I can't even comprehend the logic behind her thinking. What the ****?

sorry but your girlfriend must be retarded!

Some people are just really insecure sometimes. If she's paranoid it's probably because she isn't confident with herself so she'll try find reasons to convince herself you're cheating. Maybe try make her feel more confident for both of you.

Or maybe the problem is with the girlfriend, not OP. He shouldn't have to tiptoe around her to stop her thinking that he's cheating.

No one said he had to tiptoe, or that it was OP's problem. OP wasn't clear on whether or not she was being vicious.

Be careful. Usually when they accuse you of cheating, they are the ones doing it. That's 100% truth. I've been on both sides of that in my younger immature years. :/

OP I don't like to be the bearer of bad news but usually when the partner accuses you of cheating for stupid reasons such as this then it usually means they're the ones cheating. It's happened millions of times to millions of people, myself included. I'd keep an eye out for other signs of it as well and be ready to confront her if it's the case she's cheating.

I agree with #62. she's probably trying to blame you so that the end of your relationship seems less like its her fault. I'm not saying this is true, and if it is than I truly hope the best for you. maybe sit her down and have a talk with her? something else could be bothering her

she's pyschotic. leave her now and save yourself from a lifetime of misery
