It's money he didn't have before, so really giving you $250 isn't that unreasonable. He wouldn't have anything if you hadn't given him the $10 in the first place. He should have at least given you something, or treated you to lunch. He really isn't that great of a friend, given what everybody else is saying about how he whined about $10.
