Sadly there's far too many idiots who fail basic gun safety Treat every firearm as if it is loaded Always point the firearm in a safe direction Keep your infer off the trigger until ready to fire Never point a weapon at something you do not intend to shoot. OPs mother is a ****ing moron who failed every single one f those and OP is lucky he only got shot in the foot due I his mothers utter incompetence.

Easy calling people moron. Guns are dangerous and there is a risk when using one. Add to it a time factor and nerves.such as skeet shooting and youll see ad's happen. Its great to be safety conscous but guns are still dangerous

I guess I am looking at it another way. The gun is not dangerous when stored, handled and operated correctly. People make fire arms dangerous when they cut corners.
