WOW I didn't expect to get published haha. But I do think it's ****** up, and my parents ended up agreeing. My cat was an indoor cat and has always hated going outside, especially because she was allergic to grass/something outside so I know she didn't just...run out the door or whatever. I'm not saying that they did it on purpose, because it's possible she was in the car for the vet or something and got out/they didn't notice? I don't know. I was completely heart broken and still am, I grew up with this cat and was having a rough time when I came home and looking forward to seeing her. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the..remains, but I definitely dont want to keep my stuffed cat...I think I'm going to bury her when I get the chance. My parents haven't stopped apologising, but it still sucks to have this happen.

I imagine that was pretty traumatizing. A pet being killed is already awful, but to find it stuffed on your bed... I can't even imagine. I'm so sorry.
To be fair when my mum's first pony died when she was a kid she wanted it stuffed and kept in the living room and her parents were (obviously) like 'hell no '. But my point is its not completely unheard of to want that if a little creepy.
Well that's traumatizing
This is demented. I'm so sorry they did that to you. WTF.

Sorry OP, I feel your pain. My folks had a tribunal whether to tell me that my cat had a stroke before I was suppose to come home in about a week. They did end up telling me before I got home. Fortunately for me, they did not stuff him. I can't imagine what your parents were thinking why that would make you feel better. Sorry for your loss.
Sorry that happened to you. I would have been devastated and furious at the same time. Yeah, either bury her, or send her to TheBloggess, because she is awesome and collects arkward taxidermy.
First of all I'm gonna say that what they did is really messed up. But I've done taxidermy as well as collect it and I know it takes a lot of work (it is an art, not just "stuffing"), and I know that to have it done costs hundreds of dollars. It makes me wonder, did they pay that? Or does it look like it's done by some amateur? Either way, caring enough to pay an artist that much money is more than most people would do if they killed someone's cat. It's not something that can be done quickly on a whim at all. It's just obviously not something they should have done without asking you.
When my mom went to college she left behind her dog, Lady, who she'd grown up with and when she came home for vacation she found out her mom had had lady put to sleep and didn't bother to tell her.
i would have flipped if this happened to me.
dear lord! that's a bit sick..your parents surely meant well but, taxidermy is really not everyone's cup of tea :( the horror! sorry for you OP
I'm sorry :( It's hard enough to lose a pet, but to find out like this? It's awful
Shit...

I'm sorry. That's equally sad and ****** up.
That is horrific thinking on their part. The complete lack of empathy for your feelings is bordering on sociopath here. I am so sorry you had to come home to that.
