Today, I met my biological father for the first time. He seemed to be slightly intoxicated from the outset, and less than half an hour later, he had tried to intimidate me into "loaning" him several hundred euros for reasons he wouldn't tell me. So long, "dad". FML

Witty response? None. That sucks ass and I know from experience how disappointing that is.

What a rubbish father. I wouldn't bother ever talking to him Again.

Worst part is that the borrowed money was probably needed for drugs and was the only reason he initiated contact at all. So sorry OP!

If it makes you feel any better my biological father died from a drug overdose lol

Protip, if you have to preface father with biological, you're probably not going to have a great relationship with the man.

Proud of you that you didn't fall prey to his tricks and deception. I myself come from a lot of pain from an absent father. No comment how how I really think about them. I'm trying to be nice...

I know how you feel in a way. my dad left when I was 8. 10 years later he comes back like nothing happened. turns out he only came back because I got a job at a beer company

Blood doesn't mean anything. It's who you emotionally connect worth that matters.

I understand I could never relate or understand the gap or void of not knowing a biological parent; however, the idea that people go looking for them always astounds me. If they aren't there in your life they are more than likely a shitty person. I mean there is the occasional I didn't know man running around but even then they were probably a shitty person which is why their mother never told their child about his existence. So why would you want to bring that shitty person into your life.
