Today, I had to explain to my boyfriend that the reason I don't want to stay overnight at his house is because I still occasionally wet the bed. FML

I'm sorry but if you are STILL wetting the bed and you havnt seen a doctor about it you deserve to be in that awkward situation!

I don't know if you are still reading the comments for this but I wet the bed all the way into my preteens and my reason was that I went right into REM and couldn't wake up when my body was telling me to. All I was going to say is take 1mg of melatonin every night to help you sleep and do it for a few months and it should help any problems you have with it. I didn't have prblems fallin asleep but for some reason it made me stop wetting completely and made me sleep lighter so I could wake up. I haven't wet the bed since. you can purchase it at the GNC store

Just tell him that you're a squirter !!!!

time to invest in some depends if you want your relationship to last, op.

OP, hopefully it went over well and he was relieved that that he now knows why (maybe he thought it was something he was doing wrong). It's definitely not a relationship killer. My gf wet the bed the first time I was over. She was deathly embarrassed, but it was nothing a quick shower and a sheet change couldn't fix. We have been together around 5 years and it barely happens now. It was def a self-propagating thing at first -- so try not to stress too much about it and if it doesn't improve with time go see a doc. Hopefully your bf was understanding about it. A little patience can go a long way! Good luck!!

I semi-regularly wet the bed until I was 5 or 6. The thing that helped me the most was to stop drinking after a certain hour of the night, probably 6 pm, but then again my bedtime was probably 8 pm at the time, but you get the idea. This technique worked for our old dog, too. We had just got new carpet installed when suddenly and without warning, our old dog could no longer hold her bladder through the night, so at 7 pm we picked up the water bowl and closed all toilet lids. Also, have you tried talking to a doctor about it. Maybe something can be done about it. It would be worth any embarrassment, I think, to finally have a solution.

I had that problem for a while and there is this device that you wear when you go to sleep, you hook it to your underwear and if your underwear gets wet it wakes you up. It trains your body to wake up when you need to pee. It worked really well for me
