Today, I had a job interview. The only moment I impressed the interviewer was when I talked about drama. He started to talk about a play I hadn't seen, but I decided to agree on everything he was saying. Suddenly he said, "the play doesn't actually exist." I silently left the room. FML

YDI. I don't see what the point is of lying in these situations. It makes you look like a monumental moron.

I woulda told him to google it.... There must be a similar play somewhere!

I've been out of work for over a year, seriously I would have done the same thing. I am so desperate for a job.

Apply at Walmart. They hire almost anyone

Sounds like an episode of Fraiser, they lie to the playwright about seeing his play and they make up all kinds of s**t about it! It's easy to judge OP, but when you're after a job it gets difficult. I'd agree the moon was made of cheese to get one!

Thanks for explaining what NOT to do during an interview. :)

"Yeah, I wrote that one." You should have said, "I'm not familiar with that one, but you make it sound interesting, so I'll look for it." You have to know how to bullshit the bullshitters.

Should've stuck to your story and convinced him it was real

Should have told him "don't be so sure, there's some ****** up stuff that people come up with." I've recently seen a one-man-play with more characters than I could count... all played by the same guy. It's very possible whatever he made up has been done by some crazy one-man-artist.
