I'll admit it took me until fifth grade to realize that root beer was actually non alcoholic. I thought my parents were setting me an example by never ordering it when we went out for dinner. I love root beer now though. Birch beer too.

I got the same thing when I was drinking ginger beer! To be fair, it was in a brown glass bottle, but what killed me is when my supervisor said "Listen, maybe no one told you, but you're not allowed to drink alcohol at work." You don't say?

If it makes you feel any better, I got my first write-up in my 9 years of employment at a company for supposedly flipping someone off during a meeting. I never flipped anyone off and several witnesses, including my own manager, said I didn't either, but I still got written up by HR. Wtf? Union couldn't even help me. Total bullshit.

OP Here! I live in the Netherlands and Root beer is not common here and thats why they didn't know it wasn't a alcoholic beverage. The root beer I was drinking is from White Rock and on the side it says ROOT BEER, guess they only saw the word Beer. Thanks for all your comments and publishing my FML! Have a nice day!
