Hey guys, OP here. Thank you to all of those who are telling me that I can do better and that they don't need me. The job was at Taco Johns so I wasn't all too devastated to be fired. I would have liked them to tell me the real reason they fired me or come to me and tell me what I was doing wrong so I could have a chance to fix it before they fired me but sadly they were not mature enough to do that. The main manager at the store really didn't like me for some reason unknown to me so I'm guessing that's why she fired me. Unfortunately I do live in a state where they do not need a reason to fire someone. Needless to say I will be finding another job. Who knows, maybe I'll go work at Taco Bell, haha. Thanks again.

what'd you do wrong? either way, they lied and if it were me, I wouldn't wanna work for liars.
Downsizing is a lame excuse hope you find a new job soon OP
It's ok OP. I was fired for "not doing my side work, and standing around too much." I worked graveyard at a diner by myself. As for the side work. My morning crew checked me off every morning before I left so that nothing was forgotten (I never forgot anything). The managers all stated that they didn't need to tell me why they were firing me for the same reason they told you.
I wonder if they sit around and brainstorm about ways to make the kitchen worse; it requires a special kind of genius to fire the person who works the hardest shift to fill and who actually does the work. I hope the morning crew grumbled on your behalf.
Well it clearly wasn't because of downsizing, either you weren't cut out for that job or you need to work harder
I know exactly how you feel. Some employers deserve to be shot. My situation was a little different though. I started a hospitality traineeship while I was 19 weeks pregnant. I had started to show a little so I told my employer so that it was all out in the open, he told me it was all good. Day 2 he was trialing other people and I didn't know why. On my 5th day he then pulled me aside and said "hospitality isn't for everyone so I'm going to have to let you go" which is bullshit because it was a traineeship so of course I'm not going to be perfect straight up but I was doing well, well I thought I was. Turns out it was because of my pregnancy. Employers are ****** !
just out of curiosity but how did you find out it was pregnancy related?
Overheard him with the events manager :/ plus it's kind of obvious when I get the job, let him know I was pregnant on my first day, have people trialing for my position on my second day then "letting me go" on my fifth day. The job was a traineeship and he knew I'd never worked in hospitality before either. I was keeping up with the other staff and doing everything I was meant to so he had no reason other then my baby to fire me :/
Maybe they just wanted to let you down easy? Either way that sucks op
If they were downsizing you should've made an alliance with Jim.
This happened to me too, as I got fired they hired my friends girlfriend.
They see a big fish in a small pond, and they can't cope with it. You can do better than flipping tacos for chump change. Aim higher!
You have a right to employment for 90 days. After the 90 days, they can do whatever they want, but you're safe for 3 months.

Don't worry OP, at least you won't waste any more of your time in a place as shady as that and can start looking for a better job.
I'm trying to write a joke about an unemployed person but it needs more work
