Today, while DJing at a jumpin' wedding reception, my speaker system conked out. I hadn't brought any backup equipment, and 500 guests had the unfortunate luxury of dancing to the sounds of a portable CD player someone brought in from their car. FML

Looks like someone isn't going to get paid.

And that, my friend, is why you take back ups OF back ups

Hey guys I'm the OP and couldn't believe my first FML made it on here! I just registered, so I won't get any credit for my post...FML. With regards to my descriptive term "jumpin", my cellular device autocorrected "rockin" to jumpin. And I was going to write "crapped out" but had to settle for "conked out" to meet the 300 character limit! As for what happened that night, I discovered that my power amplifier dumped DC voltage into my double 15"s and they fried. I will never buy flea market gear anymore. As for the bride & groom they were cool about it but I did give them a big discount. Thanks for the feedback!

wait u still charged them?! Wow, if anything you should pay them!

You're a professional, dude, get on top of your shit.

Ydi for not coming prepared. I hope you didn't charge them.

That's not fair to the guests! You screwed up bro!

First rule of DJing....ALWAYS bring backup equipment !!!

I always do a speaker and amp check before every gig. And bring back up equipment. You can never be too careful
