Today, I finished a painting I'd spent 3 weeks working on for an exhibition. When I came back from lunch, my cat was perched above it on my desk. He looked at me, then down at the painting, then jumped down onto it. He slipped and smeared the wet paint everywhere, ruining the whole thing. FML

Today, I was finishing up my art project that was due the next day. I was really tired and fell asleep on my table. Three hours later, I woke up to find my project torn to bits. I went out and saw my cat vomiting out feathers and other materials I used for my project. FML

Today, I was looking through an old box of personal artwork when I realised the entire box was damp. This was all my own art from the past 3 years, smudged and smelling of cat urine. I was supposed to showcase some of it in a competition winning gallery this month. FML

Today, I moved into my new apartment complex. I left some items including a cherished painting my best friend made for me outside the front door while I moved furniture into my bedroom. When I went back outside, someone had kicked a huge hole in the painting. Welcome to the neighborhood. FML

That sucks OP. FYL. I feel your pain. One time my cat tore through a canvas painting that I was working on. I re-did it though and it turned out even better, but still sad. You might want to get a screen for your window to keep the pigeons and whatever else out. Good luck, OP.

Usually when one of my project are ruined (cats or clumsiness), I try to find a way to turn it into something else. For instance, you could remove the struts from the canvas, work them into a human figure, and shape the canvas into a dress. Maybe use some of the pigeons feathers if it left any. It does hurt when something you've been pouring yourself into is changed so drastically, but it's always better to make something out of it instead of scrapping it.
