Today, my parents bought my younger sister a real horse for $8000 dollars that she doesn't see often, since we don't live on horse property. I wanted to get something for $60. My parents tell me I need to get a job. I'm 17 and have applied at over 20 places and haven't been accepted anywhere. FML

When I graduated high school my dad gave me $200. When my sister graduated, she got a new car. The moral of the story? Sisters suck.

That is very unfair, but it really is much more satisfying buying something with your own money than having your parents' money. P.S., you'll probably need to apply to more than 20 jobs. I was in your situation a year ago and had to apply to ~35 places till I got a job ;)
